How to package suspension for shipping |
|
Forks
- Remove the forks from the bike and give them a thorough wash.
- Remove fork air bleeder valves if fitted and replace with standard bleed screws with O-rings. This will stop damage and oil leakage while in transit.
- Wrap forks in a protective layer, such as bubble wrap or newspaper.
- An appropriate sized box can be hard to find so you might have to make your own out of empty beer cartons. Wrap forks in cardboard.
- Tape the cardboard using sturdy, strong tape.
- Call Suspension Matters to discuss courier or posting options
Shock
- Remove from the bike and give the shock a thorough wash.
- To save a little on freight, the spring can be removed, if you know how to safely do so.
- Wrap shock in a protective layer, such as bubble wrap or newspaper.
- Place wrapped shock inside an appropriate sized box or wrap in cardboard.
- Tape the box closed using a sturdy, strong tape.
- Call Suspension Matters to discuss courier or posting options
If you are sending forks and shock, tape the shock box to the forks box, this will save on postage/freight costs.
